New Super Mario Bros. Codes and Hints

Play as Luigi
Press L + R + A when you select a save file. No you do not have to finish the game for it to work and for you Luigi fans out there you will be very happy with this.

- Special Background Patterns:
* - When you load a saved game file that you have beaten the game on, you'll find a new blue toad house at the beginning of world 1. Inside are 4 BG patterns you can choose for the lower screen (touch screen) of your DS. You can purchase these with star coins. The 5th and final pattern appears when you have collected all star coins.

- Unlimited Toad-House Items:
* - When you load a saved game file that you have cleared every level, including the lettered bonus levels, Toad houses will no longer dissapear after you take the items. The only exception is the ones that appear based on your timer when you finish a level.

World 4:
Defeat the boss in the last castle of world 2 as mini Mario.

World 7:
Defeat the boss in the last castle of world 5 as mini Mario.

You can also get a mini mushroom and use it in the ghost house when you see a red pipe use the mini mushroom and do a wall jump. Once you do that you will see an extra door open it and jump on the flagpole to unlock the cannon that launch you into world 7.

Mushroom House Bonuses:

Have a time ending in 11,22, or 33 for a red mushroom house to appear at the start of the map.The Red Mushroom house is an item house and you can jump on the block for a Mushroom,a flower,a blue koopa shell or a mini mushroom for later use.

Have a time ending in 44,55, or 66 for a green mushroom house to appear at the start of the map.The Green mushroom house has a mini game in it that you can play for an extra life.

Have a time ending in 77,88, or 99 for a orange mushroom house to appear at the start of the map.The Orange Mushroom house let's you get a mega mushroom for later use.

Extra Life:
Collect 100 coins for an extra life.

At the end of a stage, jump up and land on top of the flagpole to earn an extra life.

Hint: Mario Bros. reference:
Complete a stage with a time having the last three digits as 111,222,333, or 444 to hear the classic Mario Bros. stage completion song with fireworks.

Hint: Last Background Pattern:
The last Background pattern is a classic Super Mario Bros. Themed background pattern that you can get once you have the last 20 star coins.

Hint: Star Coins:
There are 240 Star Coins.3 Star coins per level.

Hint Mario Bros. 3 reference:
When you defeat Bowser Jr and Bowser you will hear the classic Super Mario Bros. 3 ending theme when Princess Peach comes down.

Easiest boss wins:
Have a Mega Mushroom and Ground Pound the boss of the castle you are facing.

Easiest Bowser Jr and Bowser Fight:
At the last castle in World 8 when you face off against Bowser Jr and Bowser have a Mega Mushroom with you and jump on both them.Then step on the very last swicth of the game and you will have beat it.

inifinite 1ups:
At the end of the 2-4 stage in World 2 where you see a green koopa coming down jump on it and if you keep jumping on it you will get up to 99 Lives.It can be hard to do if you don't remember how to do it or have never tried it.Here is the 1-Up Trick in action.
Serect Challenge Mode: Press L,R,L,R,X,X,Y,Y after you pause the game on the World Map Screen.If you enter it the right way you will get the following:

Note:Stages that won't have the flashing yellow Arrow are as follows:
